Answer questions, share information, give advice, and say "welcome" to those who convert to the AA Master Race. Obsolete Eneloop and any other substandard Eneloop are not permitted standards when claiming a generic brand is the same as "Eneloop".īe a helpful representative of the AA Master Race. Eneloop Pro, Eneloop Lite, etc are different. Only standard Eneloop is officially called "Eneloop". Modern standard Eneloop is the only permitted standard for claiming a generic brand is Eneloop. We can't always differentiate malicious shills from innocent idiots, but this rule forces them all to stick to the facts, and prevents them from using ignorance as an excuse for spreading misinformation. Company shills are a likely origin of false rumors being repeated by useful idiots. Do not claim a generic brand is Eneloop without 100% matching official specifications to prove it.If it's not the same, then it's not the same. There are no generic brands with the same specifications as Eneloop. To regain right to repair, you need the right to put in standard batteries. Right to repair was first lost from tolerating proprietary batteries, pay per charge, and self-destruct explosions. With AA you can carry it all in your pocket. With 5 different batteries, you need 15 spares plus chargers. If you use only AA batteries and you want 3 spares, you only need 3 spares. The manufacturer codes are listed in the table above.Future-proof your life. "This test compares the different manufacturer's cells at 2 amps discharge rate. There is a table which I cannot easily reproduce here, so recommend viewing the website. For high-current applications like the Lego 8043 Motorized Excatator, the results are interesting. On the website, there is a side-by-side discharge test of AA Alkaline batteries. If one is just going to play with their 8043 for a few minutes and then park it on a shelf, then AA Alkaline batteries are "better" because they cost less and do an adequate job for a few minutes of hard play. If "cost is no object", then the Rechargeable batteries are "best" but they are expensive. This is why Nimh, Lipo (such as Lego 8878), despite their lower voltage, are SUPERIOR to alkalines because of their higher discharge rate. For those who think that alkalines have higher voltage and better performance for high current draw applications such as the 8043, might want to reconsider their statement. Check the comparison test result's graph.the Duracell is 'obliterated' under just 0.5A of current draw and see how the voltage plummets way below Ni-MH batteries.I suspect the 8043 M motors can pull 1-3A. You should check this website and see the comparison of alkaline and rechargeable Ni-mh. ![]() I run Sanyo 2800mah 1.2v rechargeable Ni-mh batts for digital cams which have high C rating on my 8043. I've tried good brands of alkalines, the Ni-MH is way superior in performance, torque, and operating multiple LAs simultaneously. Ni-MH batts have much better high current handling. ![]() Alkaline batts are 'intially' 1.5 volt, apply big load (high amp draw) and the voltage falls FAST. Alkaline batteries are the worst batteries you can have on high power consumption model such as the 8043 imo. ![]()
